SPC200
SoC for EoC applications

Use case:

SPiDCOM SPC200 SoC has been patented and designed by SPiDCOM engineers.

It’s main application scenario is EoC (Ethernet over Coax).

Cable operators can take advantage of this powerful solution to provide additional value-added services over their existing coaxial cable infrastructures.

The solution can also be used in any MDU/MTU  (hotels, motels, business parks, schools…).

To know more about the typical use cases, go to EoC/MDU page.

PHY overview:

SPiDCOM patent lies in an innovative digital signal processing based on multiband OFDM.

It’s main features are:

  • ARM9 based CPU core
  • Raw data rate of 224 Mbps
  • Frequency range: 2-30 MHz
  • 7 independent sub-bands
  • Modulations up to 256-QAM

MAC overview:

SPiDCOM SPC200 MAC is based on a µC Linux kernel open platform.
SPiDCOM delivers GPL (General Public Licence) Kernel & other applications, as well as the adapted toolchain (gcc) ; only specific PLC driver is encrypted.
This way, device manufacturers can develop and customize their own applications as well as their own network management tools.

Main features of SPC200 MAC:

  • Up&Downstream true TDMA for high performance, and CSMA for plug&play deployment
  • Service Management based on ToS or VLAN for VoD, VoIP, Internet
  • Remote Network Management capabilities (SNMP, Telnet, FTP, TFTP…)
  • Priority Management based on VLAN, ToS, Mac Address…
  • Up&Downstream bandwidth limitation
  • Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation (DBA)
  • True Multicast support
  • Broadcast Storm limitation
  • Mac Address Number limitation
  • Support of 128 nodes per master
