SPiDCOM is a fabless semiconductor company. It specializes in the design of broadband ASICs and Linux-based firmwares.

ASICs

SPiDCOM provides two ranges of PLC (Powerline Communication) integrated circuits:

• SPC200 range, based on SPiDCOM 200 Mbps solution,
• SPC300 range, based on the HomePlug AV standard.

Firmware

Along with its integrated circuits, SPiDCOM provides Linux-based firmware.

These software distributions run on SPC chips and are based on a µC Linux kernel.

SPiDCOM delivers:

• Specific PLC driver (binary),

• Kernel & other applications are GPL (General Public Licence),

• Adapted toolchain (gcc),

This way, device manufacturers can develop and customize their own additional applications and network management tools. It enables a very complete end-product differentiation that is not only based on cost.

Reference Designs

To assist the work of product designers, SPiDCOM provides reference designs and technical documentation to cut product development time and quicken the time to market.

Evaluation Kits

Reference design boards and an user licence of SPiDMonitor are bundled in a special offer for manufacturers to test SPiDCOM's solution and prototype their PLC applications.

SPiDMonitor is a Java application for node monitoring and real-time analysis of the communication parameters through statistics.

It is an open standard SNMP based interface and its is available on a wide variety of platforms.

Support / Training

SPiDCOM puts great emphasis in customer support, in order to ease the product development phases.

Once a partnership is built, SPiDCOM engineers will answer enquiries by email, phone, organize trainings at SPiDCOM's or customers' premises.
